Karate is great for kids, they get much more out of it then they will from other sports. Besides mere physical fitness, karate can build your kid’s attentiveness, responsibility, respect and dicsipline. Once they have learnt these, we can teach them the art of karate. They will develop self-defence skills, awareness, focus, control, speed and strength. Karate is different from most sports because it is not a game, it is a life-long education.
And it’s not all hard work either, the kids have heaps of fun! We use games such as relay races and dodge ball (See a video of kids playing dodge ball) to teach the kids whilst ensuring they enjoy their training. These games are mixed with traditional teaching techniques.
Our instructors are all experienced with teaching kids, and are all Government accredited instructors.
Parents are more than welcome to sit and watch the class - in fact we encourage it!
Back to Top4 years of age is about the earliest. Most children have a reasonable attention span and some co-ordination by this age. We usually allow every child a few free sessions to see how they cope with the classes and in more than 90% of cases, most 4 year olds tend to feel comfortable in the class. Our "Tiny Tots" classes cater specifically for these young kids, with no adults or advanced students training at the same time.
